Flag of the United States of America Program
The main objectives of the Flag of the United States of America Committee are to keep the flag flying, protect it continuously under all conditions, and educate citizens regarding its correct usage. To achieve these goals, the Flag of the United States of America program targets the 5th grade because it is during this year that the students gain a real understanding of American History. This 90-120 minute presentation given by our Chapter Flag Chairman, a retired energetic and passionate teacher, includes:
1) Q and A with the Flag Code as our guide
2) The Pledge of Allegiance has had five revisions! We’ll discuss what they were, as well as discuss the meaning of the Pledge
3) Reader’s Theater…My Name is Old Glory
4) Folding the Flag properly with respect.
Grade 5. Other grades can be accommodated as well.
